PHQ reopens in Jammu after Durbar Move;Rajendra chairs officers meeting, reviews police functioning

JAMMU, NOVEMBER 07: Following Durbar move, J&K Police Headquarters (PHQ) resumed functioning at the winter capital here today. Director General of Police (DGP), Mr K Rajendra Kumar inspected various sections of PHQ and enquired about their functioning. 

Mr. Rajendra was received at PHQ lawns by senior police officers and presented a guard of honour by the contingent of Armed Police. He was accompanied by Special DG Coordination/Law & Order, Dr. S. P. Vaid and ADGP (Headquarters), Mr. V. K. Singh. 

Expressing his satisfaction over the advance arrangements made for smooth reopening of police offices, DGP said that efforts need to be followed continuously to bring more efficiency in day-to-day working. He said that quick disposal of the matters related to strengthening of subordinate units should be ensured at PHQ level, which would help to bring fruitful improvements in their working. 

Mr. Rajendra chaired a meeting of senior police officers at PHQ and discussed various administrative issues to strengthen the police working in different areas. He stressed for coordinated efforts to re-orient the working and ensure standard of discipline. He asked the officers to fix their targets for the coming days and work together to achieve the goal. He said that PHQ would provide every support to enhance professional capabilities of different wings of the Organization and provide better services to the people. He said that JKP would put in place all required arrangements to meet the future challenges including security, maintaining law and order in the State.

Mr. Rajendra asked the officers to chalk out sports calendar for valley and Jammu for the winter season in order to make youth development programme a success. He said that the Organization has been focusing on the development of youth and uplift of under privileged sections of the society for which cultural events and tours are conducted  under civic action progamme.   

Later, DGP visited other moving police establishments including Traffic, Crime, CID, Railway, Armed and SSG Headquarters. He interacted with the concerned officers and stressed to focus on public service and ensure a secure, peaceful atmosphere in the State, in coordination with the people.

Earlier DGP visited Police Memorial at Railhead and paid homage to martyrs.   

Among others, the meeting was attended by ADsGP, Dilbag Singh, L Mohanti and Arun Kumar IsGP, HK Lohia, AG Mir, Yoginder Koul, Danish Rana, SL Sharma and MA Ganai, Dir: SKPA, Rajesh Kumar, DPT, Hilal Ahmed Shah, AIsGP, Dr. Haseeb Mughal, JA Koul, Sheikh Junaid, Kulbir Singh and BA Shah, SSsP, Ranjit Kanwar and Nisha Nathyal, Exn: PCD, Nasir Hussain and other police officers.
