J&K Govt to verify integrity/ineffectiveness of Officers at all ranks ?

Jammu, September 20: Jammu and Kashmir Government has directed all the departments to expeditiously complete the verification exercise so that dead-woods are removed from the services as per the provisions of the Civil Service Regulations, 1956.

The issue of removal of dead-woods from the Government service was deliberated upon in a high-level meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Dr Arun Kumar Mehta & Chief Secretary emphasized on the expeditious removal of dead-woods from the Government service and asked all the departments to review cases on the basis of documentary evidence and complete the process at the earliest strictly as per the provisions of Article 226(2) of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Service Regulations, 1956.

Pertinent to mention here that previously J&K Govt removed so many innocents as deadwoods by quoting  so called Art. 226(2) but around 98% came back with force after quashment of illegal orders passed by Govt in violations through different honble courts, which cases were otherwise approved by so called high power committe of top incompetant IAS officers, which otherwise also caused multi crore loss to Govt Exchequer by way of litigation charges on their specific negligence & lack of knowledge, which should be recovered from their personal pockets to avoid illegalities in near future.

It is also to mention here that otherwise Art 226(2) says that "The officer/oficials who have outlived their utility in the administration should be removed as deadwoods to bring efficiency in the administration".

It is a question on the JKUT Govt as a whole that whether in first go so called High Power Committee will crack down in the offices of Pr. Secretaries/Commissioners/DCs, HoDs to see how many cases/public issues are pending in their offices since months ?

Other issues can easily be detected to act on them are like, how many communications from LG/Advisors are not bothered by top bosses since months?

How many Grievances are not replied by big bosses since months to the Grievance Cell?

However, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha had incorporated new provisions making it compulsory to initiate exercise for each Government servant for the first time after his/her completion of 22 years of service or attaining 48 years of age and any time subsequently as may be required.

Let us wait & watch the fairness being adopted in such kind of cases in near future by so called High Power Committee !
