Dr. Singla stress on the need/importance of sports and other activities for the young generation


ANANTNAG, AUGUST 11: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Anantnag, Dr. Piyush Singla today made an extensive visit to various areas of Subdivision Dooru to inspect the progress of ongoing developmental works. He also took stock of the functioning of various public assets of the area.

The DDC inspected the PHC building being constructed at Larkipora where concerned officials briefed DDC regarding the progress of work. He stressed on officials of executing agencies to work in utmost coordination to complete the project in due time.

He held a proper inspection of the Larkipora-Anantnag Bridge that has great importance for people of the area. He also took stock of the ongoing construction work for Girls Hostel being built at Dooru where he directed the officials to develop a play-field for sports and other recreational activities for the inmates.

Dr. Singla stressed on the need and importance of sports and other activities for the young generation along with their education. Later, the DDC visited the Hospital at Dooru and briefly reviewed its functioning.

Replying to demands about up-gradation of staff and other facilities there, he assured all genuine demands will be fulfilled in due course of time.

The DDC carried an extensive visit to different locations of the area including Kapran, where he interacted and listened patiently to the issues and grievances raised by the locals.

The DDC directed the concerned officials to allocate land for a playfield in the area so that the young generation would engage themselves in sports and physical activities.

The DDC also visited Rasul Mir auditorium and other public assets of the area and briefly reviewed their functioning.

During his tour, Dr Singla inspected the Town Hall Dooru-Verinag where President MC apprised him about the town planning and development.

On the occasion, the DDC directed the concerned officials to complete the different developmental projects of the area in a time bound manner. He stressed for synchronization and better coordination among line departments and executing agencies so that these projects are completed at an earliest and their benefits accrue to the people.

The DDC during the visit was accompanied by the Chief Planning Officer, Executive Engineer R&B, Chief Medical Officer, Sub-District Magistrate and other officers of administrative and engineering departments.
