KATHUA, JULY 13: A team of Regional Transport Office, Kathua under the supervision of RTO today conducted a Vehicle checking drive on National Highway near Chadwal.
During the checking, vehicles plying on the road in violation of Motor Vehicle Act and Covid-19 SoP's were challaned and compounded on the spot.
While giving details of the Vehicle Checking Drive, RTO Kathua informed that a total of 19 Vehicles were compounded besides 13 Vehicles challaned and fine to the tune of ? 10,500 was recovered from the defaulters on spot.
Similarly, 16 violation of Covid-19 SOP's, 3 without High Security Registration Plate( HSRP), 1 without helmet, 3 for Overloaded goods, 9 for overweight and 1 violation of Registration were booked by the team. An amount of Rs 2.50 Lac (Approx) is to be realized out of challan from the booked violators, the RTO added.
