No room for laxity post lockdown: DC Kishtwar


KISHTWAR, JUNE 22: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Ashok Sharma today appealed to the people to strictly adhere to the COVID Appropriate Behaviour (CAB) and stick to guidelines issued by the Government to make the district COVID free.

Speaking at the weekly press briefing, he urged the people to use face masks, maintain social distance and necessarily get inoculated as these are the only affirmative tools to fight and defeat the spread of COVID19 virus.

During the press briefing, he informed that the district administration has taken a number of initiatives for the enforcement of CAB and any person found violating the guidelines shall be strictly dealt with. He further informed that enforcement squads have been put on task for the effective enforcement of post lockdown safety measures.

Besides, he informed that the restriction on the entry of the public in the Chowgan ground, strengthening of check nakas, implementation of weekend curfew in the district and prohibition of gathering in public places and business establishments are still put in place to ensure the safety of the general public.

He further informed that district administration in collaboration with health and other departments have been able to conduct 80% vaccination of the persons above 45 yrs of age in rural areas.
