Augmentation of hospitals for Covid health care priority: DC Kupwara

KUPWARA, MAY 18: The Chairman, District Development Council (DDC) Kupwara, Irfan Sultan Panditpori and Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Imam Din today visited Covid Sub District Hospital (SDH) Kupwara. SSP Kupwara, G.V. Sundeep; President Municipal Committee Kupwara, Reyaz Ahmad Mir and concerned officers accompanied them.

Talking to media persons, the Deputy Commissioner said that 25 High flow Oxygen Concentrators have been received from Divisional Administration on priority basis to further augment the Covid health care system in the district.

He said that some more hospitals have also been identified for augmentation of bed capacity to reduce the load on major Covid Hospital Kupwara, adding that an Oxygen plant is being installed in the SDH Sogam and work is expedited to make the plant immediately functional.

He further said that the oxygen cylinders are also being supplemented to various hospitals of the district to deal with any exigency.

On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner handed over 25 Oxygen Cylinders to Block Medical Officer Langate for supplementing the Covid health care of the SDH Langate which already has 35 Oxygen cylinders at its disposal.

Later, the Deputy Commissioner along with SSP and concerned officers inspected various markets of Kupwara town and took stock of the Corona Curfew being implemented on the ground.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the Duty Magistrates deployed in the markets to ensure strict adherence of Corona curfew on the ground for the larger interest of the general public.
