Ansari reviews status of ongoing IT projects

SRINAGAR, Sep 27: Minister for Information Technology, Technical Education and Youth Services & Sports, Imran Raza Ansari, convened a meeting of officials of Information Technology Department here today to review the status of ongoing IT projects.

         Secretary Information Technology, Saleem Shishger, CEO Jammu and Kashmir e-Governance Agency (JaKeGA), Financial Advisor JaKeGA and other senior officers attended the meeting.  

          The meeting reviewed the status of various projects like e-Assembly,  e-Prisons, e-Districts, e-Public Distribution System, e-System Design and Manufacturing, State Data Centre, State Services Delivery Gateway and File Tracking System.

          On the occasion, Mr. Ansari sought the status of State Wide Area Network (or SWAN) and urged the concerned officials to take it ahead in earnest.

With regard to the establishment of the State Data Centre in Srinagar, he was informed that the possible site of the centre is Kashmir Haat.

          Stressing the importance of e-governance in public administration, which the Minister said makes the latter more efficient in many ways, he directed the concerned officials to abide by the proposed project timelines and also issued directions for rolling out completed projects. He also reviewed the status of payments made in various projects.

          During the meeting, Mr. Ansari directed for complete and fastest possible Aadhaar coverage in the state. He also reviewed the Biometric Attendance System in the civil secretariat and suggested that all employees be included and brought into its fold to ensure that there is minimum absenteeism and maximum attendance.
