Speaker pays rich tributes to Maharaja Hari Singh;Recalls his contributions in socioeconomic transformation 


 

JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 23-Recalling the contributions of   Maharaja  Hari Singh  for the welfare and development of Jammu and Kashmir  Speaker Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta called him a great visionary who worked for women education and uplift of weaker sections of the society. 

The Speaker was speaking at a function held at Delhi Public School here today to commemorate the birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh .

MLA, Rajesh Gupta, MLCs, Ashok Khajuria, Charanjeet Singh Khalsa and Ramesh Arora, Inspector General of Police, Danish Rana besides Commissioner JMC, Manmohan Singh were also present on the occasion .

Mr Kavinder Gupta highlighted the contributions of Maharaja Hari Singh and said that he is remembered for his pro people policies  and schemes implemented for the betterment of State. Referring to his major initiative such as   establishment of Jammu & Kashmir Bank to streamline the economic conditions of State, setting -up Court in order to put justice on track and ensuring equality for all Speaker said that these steps helped in transformation of the state in a major way.

Speaker exhorted upon the youth to follow the principles of such great leaders to weed out prevailing social evils from the society.

Other dignitaries also spoke on the occasion and called Maharaja  an epitome of good governance which allowed the people to live their life respectfully and peacefully.

Students of the School also presented various cultural programmes on the occasion which depicted rich Dogra culture of the state.

Director DPS Jammu highlighted the achievements of the school and lauded the role of the management and staff of the School.

Director DPS, Principals DPS Jammu, Katra and Nagbani, Headmistress DPS Jammu, , Secretary Rajput Charitable Trust, staff and students of DPSwere present on the occasion.
