GOI introduced Four Labour Codes to simplify the country’s existing labour laws: Saurab Bhagat

JAMMU, Feb 24: Saurab Bhagat, IAS, Commissioner/Secretary to Govt. Labour & Employment Department and  Abdul Rashid War, KAS Labour Commissioner, J&K interacted with the Industrialists of Jammu Province through video conferencing on 24.02.2021 regarding finalization of Jammu and Kashmir Rules on the Four Labour Codes.

 

Besides, the officers/officials of Labour Department and Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Department, the Presidents/representatives of Chamber of Commerce and Industries Jammu, BBIA, ASSOCHAM, AOI Gangyal, SSI Birpur, AOI Digiyana , Taxi operators union, AOI Gangyal, AOI Hiranagar and AOI Samba. 

 

A detailed interaction took place on the four codes and draft rules framed there-under. The Commissioner/Secretary informed the participants that the Govt. of India has introduced the Four Labour Codes aiming to streamline and simplify the country’s existing labour laws, which will ensure growth of industrial and commercial activities by ensuring harmonious relationship between employer and workers. 

 

The participants were further informed that objections/suggestions have been invited from all the stakeholders on the draft rules notified under Four Labour Codes by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir and the Draft Rules are available on the website of Labour & Employment Department/Labour Commissioner viz. www.jklabouremp.nic.in/ www.jklabour.com.

 

During the discussions, the industrialists/Presidents of the Associations sought more time for examining the draft rules and submission of the objections in this behalf to the department on which, the Commissioner/Secretary assured that though the time to file the objections is going to be expired on 25th of February 2021, however, keeping in view the interest of the stakeholders, their objections shall be considered under rules.
