New Political map: Kathua DDC Chairman chairs meeting to discuss road plan for PMGSY-III

KATHUA, FEBRUARY 20: Chairperson, District Development Council Kathua, Mahan Singh, today chaired a meeting to discuss the formulation and vetting of Block Rural Road Plan (BRRP) and District Rural Road Plan (DRRP) for PMGSY Phase-III here at DC office complex. Deputy Commissioner, Om Prakash; ADC, Atul Gupta; ADC, Sandesh Kumar Sharma; ADC Basohli Tilak Raj Thapa; Vice Chairman, DDC Raghunandan Singh, DDC members, BDC Chairpersons and District and Sectoral Officers of different departments were present in the meeting.

While presenting PMGSY profile, SE PMGSY Rajan Mehngi informed the meeting that Under PMGSY-I in Kathua District, 256 schemes were sanctioned at a cost of Rs 992.20 crore to provide connectivity to 487 habitations. The total length involved was 1529.76 km, out of which as on date 151 schemes stand completed at a cost of Rs. 485.59 crore providing connectivity to 353 habitations with 853.05 km road length in far off areas of Kathua District like Lohai Malhar , Bani , Basohli, etc.

The DDC Chairperson said that the coordinated efforts between elected PRI members and district administration are pivotal to enable equitable development of rural areas. He appealed the elected PRI members to make all out efforts to meet the development aspirations of the people. DC Kathua, Om Prakash said that the meeting was called so that all the important roads of rural areas proposed under this plan for up gradation shall be done in consultation with elected representatives.

During the meeting, Block wise trace maps for PMGSY-III were circulated among the members of DDC and BDCs to go through the maps where all roads, population and facilities have been marked using most advanced technology including Data source from remote sensing, satellite imagery, other sources like Google and each item /point has been marked with reference to latitude and longitude.
