Lt Governor Manoj Sinha declares open Premier League in Jammu

JAMMU, Jan 20: Lt Governor Manoj Sinha  declared open Premier League in Jammu.

LG said J&K witnessing Revolution in Sports Sector , heading towards becoming a sporting Power House.

"UT Government taking a leap forward to overhaul the sports ecosystem of J&K, extending hand-holding to the budding sportspersons by ensuring modern sports infrastructure coupled with world class training: LG Aimed at upgradation of sports infrastructure and encouragement of sporting talent, Rs 200 Cr sanctioned under Prime Minister’s Development Package. Another Rs 30 Cr sanctioned by the Government for boosting sports infrastructure,training facilities to hone the local talent,"LG said 

LG said " J&K is perhaps the first to organize 1250 matches across all the districts in four different disciplines of Football, Hockey, Volleyball and Kabaddi. It is no less than any festival for around 8500 players participating in the games. This Premier League is an ambitious sporting event for the youth which will enhance the quality of competition, performance of the players ensuring their participation in National and International levels:"
