Samoon inaugurates mega job fair at ITI Udhampur, Reiterates ‘’PMKVY-3 envisions to offer huge job opportunities to youth


UDHAMPUR, JANUARY-12: Government Industrial Training Institute Udhampur today organized one day mega placement job fair for unemployed youth of the district at ITI College complex Udhampur.

Principal Secretary, Skill Development Department J&K UT, Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon was the chief guest who formally inaugurated the job fair while District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Dr Piyush Singla and Director Skill Development Department J&K, Sajad Hussain Ganai were the guests of honour on the occasion.

Additional District Development Commissioner, Ashok Kumar, Joint Director Skill Development Department, Jammu, G. M Bhat, Chief Planning Officer, Rajeev Bhushan, PO ICDS, Attar Chand, GM DIC, Pankaj Anand, District Social Welfare Officer, Engineer Sajad Bashir Somberia, Chief Horticulture Officer, Salil Gupta, LDM Ramesh Raina and other senior officers of various departments besides representatives of different companies were also present on the occasion.

More than 250 pass out trainees of various trades like Welder, Electrician, Plumber, COPA, Stenography, MMV, Fashion Design Technology, Sewing Technology; Software Application participated in the placement fair on the occasion.

While addressing the youth, Principal Secretary said that the government would explore all possibilities to create jobs in private sector but the educated youth should also come forward to set up their income generating self employment units to earn with dignity and contribute in the national economy. He also stressed the need for creating maximum awareness about the centrally sponsored self employment schemes among the unemployed youths so that they could set up their own income generating units for economic prosperity.

He reiterated that PMKVY-3 envisions to offers huge opportunities to obtain skills in trades of their interest which will not only equip them with skills required for landing in job but also traverse on the path of “Entrepreneurship” whereby instead of job-seekers they can become job-providers.

Dr Samoon stressed upon the unemployed educated youth to avail benefit of such employment fairs by knowing about the self employment schemes started by the government.
