Srinagar, Jan 6: A bird flu alert has been sounded in Jammu and Kashmir, after many states including Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana and Gujarat have reported avian flu, which have left several states baffled as lakhs of birds have been found dead in the last 10 days.
The Director, Animal Husbandary said that the field functionaries of the department have been asked to keep a constant vigil in and around the area and report immediately any sort of unnatural deaths of migratory birds as well as other poultry birds of the area or elsewhere.
