Thieves gang busted by Jammu Police; Gold worth 8 lacs recovered


 

JAMMU, Jan 02: In a major success Jammu Police in Bishnah recovered  gold ornaments worth 8 lakh rupees and arrested two thieves with one accomplice involved in theft in subdivision RS Pura in Jammu district.
 
The gang of thieves was zeroed in, when an FIR no. 184/2020 U/S 457/380 IPC was registered at P/S Bishnah after a  complaintant filed a written complaint with Police station Bishnah for the theft in his house.
 
A special team lead by *SHO Bishnah Tahir Yousaf* supervised by *SDPO RS Pura Shabir Khan* took the digital evidences and collaborating with the human intelligence plotted the movement of some suspected persons around the scene of crime.
During the course of investigation, two persons were zeroed in and after conducting the raids at different places the team arrested Vijay Kumar S/O Kartar Chand R/O Palawan , Sandeep Singh @ Seepu S/O Ashok Singh R/O Palawala and a Jeweller Rakesh Verma S/O Sashi pal R/O Akhnoor.
 
When put to sustained questioning the trio accepted the crime.Sandeep and Vijay were involved in theft and after stealing the gold they went to Rakesh’s ornament shop and sold the Jewellery to him.
 
It also came out during questioning from the accussed that Rakesh was involved in some previous deals also with these thieves.
On their disclosures, gold ornaments worth 8 lacs were recovered.
 
The trio also disclosed that they were involved in some more thefts earlier also for which FIR nos FIR No 41/17 u/s 457/380 RPC was lodged at Police station Khour,
FIR no 158/2017 u/s 457/380 RPC                lodged at Police Station Akhnoor
and FIR 303/2020 u/s 457/380 IPC lodged at Police station BariBrahmana District Samba.
 
Police is also looking for two more accomplice who were also hand in glove with this gang and one among them is a Jeweller.
 
The operation was conducted under the supervision of *SP Hqrs Jammu Aadil Hamid* and *SSP Jammu Shridhar Patil.*
