New Delhi, November 20: The Comptroller & Auditor General of India Girish Chandra Murmu has been elected as External Auditor of Inter Parliamentary Union, Geneva for three years.
Murmu will assume the position shortly by taking charge from Supreme Audit Institution of Switzerland. The election took place at the virtual meeting of the 284th session of the IPU which is a 179 countries Parliamentarians body, also having 13 associate members.
Murmu the former Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir was appointed as CAG in the month of August 2020.
