Srinagar, Oct 16: A series of attacks took place from 14th August 2020 till 5th October within the jurisdiction of Police Station Nowgam and Chadoora, the details are given below:
• On *14th August 2020* terrorists attacked the Police and SSB party at Gulshan Nagar Nowgam in which two personnel of “A” Coy of IRP 20th Bn were martyred and one injured. One INSAS rifle was also snatched by the terrorists. (FIR No 117/2020 U/S 302, 307, 392 IPC, 7/27 Indian Arms Act, 16, 18 ULA (P) Act of PS Nowgam)
• On *21st September 2020* terrorists attacked the ROP party of “F” Coy of 110 Bn CRPF on New Bypass. (FIR No 127/2020 U/S 307 IPC, 7/27 Indian Arms Act, 16, 18 ULA (P) Act of PS Nowgam)
• On *25th September 2020* terrorists attacked the CRPF party of “B” Coy of 117 Bn at Kaisarmullah Chadoora in which one CRPF personnel was martyred and his weapon was also snatched. (FIR No 166/2020 U/S 302, 307, 392 IPC, 7/27 Indian Arms Act, 16, 18 ULA (P) Act of PS Chadoora Budgam)
• On *5th October 2020* terrorists attacked the ROP party of “E” Coy of CRPF 110 Bn near Taingan New Bypass in which 2 CRPF personnel were martyred and 4 others injured. (FIR No 138/2020 U/S 302, 307 IPC, 7/27 Indian Arms Act, 16, 18 ULA (P) Act of PS Nowgam)
In order to solve the attacks that took place within the jurisdiction of Police Station Nowgam, different teams were constituted by West Zone, Police Srinagar. Around 9-10 suspects were identified and subsequently picked up for questioning. The teams were able to identify the links through human intelligence and a series of raids were launched in Chadoora Budgam, Nowgam and other areas of District Srinagar. These suspects were subjected to sustained questioning and during questioning they confessed about their involvement. Location of the house was obtained through human intelligence, where the terrorists involved in these attacks were hiding at Barzulla.
The following terrorist associates were arrested by the teams of Srinagar Police who had provided shelter, transportation and also conducted recce of the security forces deployments where the attacks were carried out by terrorists.

Six vehicles were also seized by Srinagar Police which were used for recce, transportation of terrorists and for carrying out these attacks, the details are:

4. Alto White Colour Registration No. JK04B-7730
5. Alto 800 bearing Registration No JK13E-8162
6. Bike bearing Registration No. JK04E-5369.
Further investigation into the matter is still going on.
Arrest of these Terror associates and seizure of their transport means-- busting of this old Terror- support module will prove a major blow to the activities of the LeT outfit in the area and will surely pave a way for restoration of Peace and Normalcy in the area.
