Kishtwar, Sep 12: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Vice President and Ex-Minister Ghulam Mohammed Saroori today appealed to the Government to revoke restrictions imposed on fresh recruitment for government departments.

“The decision should be reviewed by the government to engage unemployed youth in government services because it has led to frustration and alienation among the educated youth of Jammu and Kashmir especially Kishtwar,” said Saroori during his tour to Drabshalla block of Kishtwar district. Saroori said that the job opportunities should be created in Jammu and Kashmir and the youth must be given employment. From last one year, he said, the youth are in confusion with regard to their future. “We were assured development, employment and other things.

However, nothing has been achieved in J&K after the revocation of special status. The Government has failed to fulfill its own promises and the people have been left helpless without the government,” he alleged. Saroori said that the government departments have been working without manpower. “They lack manpower and because of which, they fail to provide facilities to the people whether it is PHE, PDD or any other department. The contractual or daily rated workers or HR workers have not been paid for the last many months,” he said pointing towards the incompetence of the government in running the Government departments. He said that the people who work in the departments and keep the services running should be paid timely and their wages should be released without further delay.

“We were promised 50000 jobs in Jammu and Kashmir but the time has come, when they have withdrawn posts which were referred to the recruitment agencies for recruitment citing various reasons. The Government should work in the interest of people, not against them,” he added. He said that companies working in different projects in Kishtwar district do not employ locals. “They employee those who come with reference to a political party. Majority of the locals are being deliberately ignored and employment is not given to them in these companies. These companies allegedly discriminate with the locals and provide jobs to outsides or those have affiliation with a political party,” he alleged.

Referring to the health facilities in the hospitals of Chenab Valley, the Former Minister alleged that District Hospitals in Kishtwar, Doda and Ramban and even Udhampur lack proper ventilators as per the requirement. “The Government should supply required number of ventilators to meet the situation which is emerging due to increasing number of covid-19 cases in the Chenab Valley particularly Kishtwar,” he said, and demanded that the authorities should conduct sampling of all the people in entire Chenab Valley to identify the infected people. “The infected people must be isolated and treated to avoid further spread of the deadly virus,” he added.

Besides, he also appealed to the people to follow the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) by keeping social distance and wearing masks to avoid contraction with the virus.

Meanwhile, Saroori demanded that the Kissan Credit Card (KCC) loans should not be charged from the farmers and similarly, the businessmen should not be charged interest on the loans they have taken during the covid-19 period. “The business activities have suffered badly and hence, the government should take a decision in the interest of farmers and businessmen,” he appealed. On recruitment of dental surgeons, Saroori expressed his serious concern and said that the Government has failed to advertise any post for these dental surgeons.
