The role of International Olympic Committee (IOC) bids to weld the scattered nations under one umbrella to promote love for games and sports through educational and ethical values. International Olympic Committee (IOC) was founded by PIERRE DE COCEBERTIN and DEMETRIOS. VIKELES in the year 1894 withholding the responsibilities for summer and winter Olympic Games.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) is the governing body of the National Olympic Committees (NOCs) which are the National Constituents of the worldwide Olympic movement. [Mr. Narinder Dhruv Batra, The first summer Olympic Games were held under the President FIH and NOC, International Olympic Committee (IOC) in ALHENES, Member IOC] GREECE in 1896, and the first winter Olympics in Chamonix, FRANCE in 1924.

The first YOG organized in SINGAPORE in 2010 and the first winter YOG in INNSBRUCK in 2012. Formation of International Olympic Committee (IOC) stands with 105 active members, 45 honourary members, 2 honour members (Senegal and Limited state), 206 individual National Olympic Committees are recognized by International Olympic Committee (IOC). President of International Olympic Committee (IOC) [THOMOS BENCH] controls its working and sports activities from the headquarter LAUSANNE (SWITZERLAND). The Olympic symbols are icons, flags and symbols used by International Olympic Committee (IOC) to elevate the Olympic games.

Some such as the flame fanfare and theme are more commonly used during the Olympic competitions but others such as flag can be seen throughout the years. The Olympic flag was created under the guidance of BARON-DE- COUBERTIN in 1913 and was released in 1914. It was first hoisted in 1920 in ANLWERP(BELGIUM)at the 1920 Summer Olympics in the stadium. The five rings represent the five continents in the world (ASIA, EUROPE, AFRICA, THE AMERICA and OCEANIA).

All the five rings interlocking coloured Red, Blue, Yellow, Black and Green on a white field. The Olympic character once ascribed a ring colour to each continent, Blue for EUROPE, Yellow for ASIA, Black for AFRICA, Green for OCEANIA and Red for AMERICA. But the organizers removed this statement of colour prejudices from their handbook in 1957. INDIA first participated at the Olympicsin 1900 with a single athlete NORMAN PRITCHARD and won two silver medals. The Indian Olympic movement was then established during 1920’s having founder members of this movement DORABJI TATA, A.G. NOEHREN, H.C. BUCK, MINUL HAG, S. BHOOT, A.S. BHAGWAT and GURU DUTT SONDHI. LT. COL. H.L.O.
