New Delhi, August 24: The Finance Ministry in a a series of tweets tweeted that GST has reduced the rate at which people have to pay tax and helped increase compliance and doubled taxpayer base to 1.24 crore.
GST has reduced the rate at which people have to pay tax. Businesses with an annual turnover of up to Rs 40 lakh are GST exempt.
Additionally, those with a turnover up to Rs 1.5 crore can opt for the Composition Scheme and pay only 1 per cent tax.
