DC Doda reviews arrangements for upcoming Yatras

Bhaderwah, July 26: The district administration Doda today reviewed arrangements for upcoming annual yatras in the district and festivals and fairs celebrated locally.         

The arrangements for smooth conduct of Annual Holy Kailash Yatra, Machail Yatra, Mani Mahesh Yatra, Shri Krishan janmastmi, Mela Pat 2016 were discussed at meeting of officers chaired by Deputy Commissioner Bhupinder Kumar here at Bhaderwah Dak Bunglow.            

Senior Superintendent of Police Doda Zahid Manhas, ASP Bhaderwah Sargun Shukhla, SDM Bhaderwah   Anwar Banday, CEO BDA   Bal Krishan, CMO Doda   Kulbhushan, SDPO Bhaderwah Sajad Khan, Tehsildar Bhaderwah Amir Zargar, Member Advisory Tourism Board  Ravi Mahajan, Representatives of Sanathan Dharam Sabha Bhaderwah, Kailesh Sewa Sangh, besides various other senior officers were present at the meeting.                  

President Sanathan Dharam Sabha Bhaderwah informed the meeting about the dates and schedules of various forthcoming Yatras in the district and sought same level of cooperation extended by the district administration every year. 

He informed that the Mani Mahesh-1st Yatra shall commence on August 12 and continue till August 25, while and Mani Mahesh-2nd would start on August 25 and conclude on September 8.             

He also informed that the Kailesh Yatra shall start on August 18 and end on September 1, 2016. He further informed that in view of heavy rush of pilgrims the annual Machail Yatra shall commence this year from July 25. However the programme of Charri Mubarak shall remain the same.           

The Sanathan Dharam Sabha called upon administration to make foolproof security arrangements for the pilgrims and ensure maintenance of roads, availability of drinking water, presence of medical staff along the route of Yatra, accommodation of pilgrims, arrangements of buses, telephone facilities besides other facilities.

Responding to the issues raised by the Sabha, the DC issued on the spot directions with respect to different Yatras which are going to be held at different venues.           

Regarding Security, he asked the SSP   to deploy sufficient number of police personnel along all the Yatra  routes to ensure safety of pilgrims. He further directed the SSP to ensure hassle free movement of vehicles carrying pilgrims. Meanwhile he asked the officers from forest department to clear the trees and other inconveniences along the traditional route.          

He stressed on making adequate provision of drinking water on the yatra route to meet the requirement of huge rush of pilgrims expected this year.   He further insisted upon the R&B department to clear the landslides and be ready with men and machinery for further clearance.               

It was decided that a medical team would be send with the Yatra in addition to the staff being posted at different halts en route.          

Besides directions were passed   to the municipality to ensure cleanliness of the town, CEO BDA to install reception centres at Chatragalha and tents for pilgrims at reasonable rates, CAPD to provide ration to the langers only on recommendation of the president of Sanathan Sabha etc.
