J&K cadre IAS officer Aijaz Asad gets Rashtriya Gaurav Award


 
JAMMU, July 09 An IAS officer from Jammu & Kashmir Mohammad Aijaz Asad has been selected for Rashtriya Gaurav Award for his outstanding achievements in the field of Administration & Literature.
 
The Award is given by India International Friendship Society(IIFS) to a few extraordinary Indian citizens who have achieved excellence in various fields such as Education, Politics & Social Work, Fine Arts, Industry & Science and Technology, etc. 
 
The past recipients of ‘Rashtriya Gaurav Award’ include Beatified Mother Teresa; former Vice-president B.D. Jatti;  Governors like Shri Keshari Nath Tripathi Governor of West Bengal; Gen J J Singh(Rtd) Ex-Governor of Arunachal Pradesh; Justice M. Fathima Beevi; Justice P.N. Bhagwati; Former Air-Chief-Marshal N.C. Suri; Former Election Commissioner GVG Krishnamurthy; Former Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Prem Kumar Dhumal; Speakers like Dinesh Oraon(Jharkhand); Kavinder Gupta Speaker(J & K); Sarod maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan; Ghazal Singer Pankaj Udas; Medical Sector entrepreneurs like Dr Naresh Trehan, Dr B.K. Goyal and many many other distinguished personalities in various Fields. 
 
As per details with Cross Town News,  Aijaz is a 2012 batch IAS officer and is presently posted as Managing Director of Kashmir Power Discom(KPDCL) and has served as Deputy Commissioner of districts in Jammu as well as in Kashmir Division.
 
Aijaz  holds the record of being the first from border District of Poonch to have got selected into premier Engineering college IIT Delhi from where he completed his B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering. He also holds distinction of being the first from Poonch District after 1947 to make it to the Indian Administrative Service. 
 
The Award ceremony shall be held in Delhi, the schedule for which has not been fixed yet due to Covid-19 pandemic.
