CBSE syllabus to be reduced by 30% for classes 9 to 12: HRD Minister

New Delhi July 07:  HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank announced that it had been decided that CBSE would be reducing the syllabus for classes 9 to 12 by 30% while retaining the core concepts due to the Covid-19 situation prevailing across the world.

Taking to Twitter on Tuesday evening he said that the Central Board of Secondary Education had been advised earlier to revise the curriculum so that the course load could be reduced for students of classes 9 to 12.

He said that he had also invited suggestions from educationists across India on how the CBSE syllabus could be reduced and thanked everyone for the 1500-plus suggestions sent in.

Considering the importance of learning achievement, it has been decided to rationalize syllabus up to 30% by retaining the core concepts,” the HRD minister said in his tweet.
