Udhampur, May 26: Giving details Rajiv Pandey, IPS SSP Udhampur said Police party of PS Udhampur led by Insp. Vijay Singh Choudhary SHO PS Udhampur under the supervision of Sh. Rajinder Singh Katoch AdSP Udhampur and Dr. Rohit Chadgal DySP Hqrs. Udhampur laid a naka at Jakhani, NHW Udhampur.
During naka checking, police party intercepted one vehicle (truck) bearing registration no. PB 05Q 7191 for checking.
During checking of said vehicle, 60 kg of poppy straw was recovered from the vehicle. The accused driver namely Yoga Singh S/O Mohinder Singh R/O Subash Colony, Amritsar alongwith Lucky Singh S/O Avtar Singh R/O Meota Road, Amritsar were arrested on spot and recovered poppy straw was also seized.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 211/2020 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act stands registered at PS Udhampur and further investigation of the case is going on.
