DC Kupwara , Shopian, Bandipora order immediate axing of female Russian Poplar trees

KUPWAR, APRIL 4: Deputy Commissioner(DC), Kupwara , Anshul Garg, today ordered for axing of all Russian species female poplar trees in the district within six days. He urged the people to come forward for axing of the tree standing in their land as it is health hazardous because of its pollen which creates influenza like infection.

DC directed that the concerned District Officers and Tehsildars to axe the female Russian Poplar trees standing in government department including Forest, State and Kacharie land Tehsildars within a period of  06 days.

Deputy Commissioner (DC), Shopian, has directed all Tehsildars to axe the female Russian Poplar trees, pollen of which has been a public concern in the wake of the Covid-19 outbreak.

According to an order issued in this regard, the DC has impressed the Tehsildars of the district to identify the said trees within their territorial jurisdiction with the help of Social Forestry Department and axe them immediately.

Deputy Commissioner (DC), Bandipora, Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza, today, directed all concerned to axe all Russian female poplar trees within six days as its pollen creates influenza like infections which may create unnecessary panic among the general public amid COVID-19 pandemic.

DC said that in view of the situation risen due to spread of COV1D-19, it has become imperative to take further preventive measures by way of felling of Russian female Poplar trees.
