Policeman dies in road accident in Kishtwar; Saroori for ex-gratia relief of 10 lakhs

KISHTWAR, MARCH 29: - A policeman died Sunday after a Maruti car bearing no JK02J-1789 skidded off the road on Batote-Kishtwar national highway near Fougmarh some 15 kms away from the district headquarters.
 
The ill fated vehicle was on its way to Kishtwar from Drabshalla and Special Police Office (SPO) Mushtaq Ahmed son of Dien Mohd and Sajjad Hussain son of Irshad Hussain Lone both resident of Tatani Saroor area of Drabshalla tehsil in Kishtwar district were travelling in the said car.
 
After receiving information about the accident, police party from police station Kishtwar, Medical team rushed to the spot and shifted both the injured to District Hospital Kishtwar where a policeman Mushtaq Ahmed was declared dead.
 
Meanwhile Senior Congress Leader and Former Minister J&K, G. M Saroori expressed deep shock and grief on the loss of SPO Mushtaq Ahmed in today's tragic accident.
 
Saroori called upon the Union Territory Government to take serious note of the underlying causes of the recurrent road accidents. “Current, heart-rending accidents in Chenab Valley have become a matter of deep and abiding concern for all of us, adding that we have to part with precious and quality human resource in these tragic road accidents. “Even in today’s accident, SPO Mushtaq Ahmed was on his way to Kishtwar for performing of duty”, Senior Congress Leader said.
 
He has conveyed his heart felt condolence to the family member of bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul. He also prayed to Almighty Allah to give strength to the family members of the deceased to bear irreparable loss.
 
The Former Minister urged the Lieutenant Governor and Director General of J&K Police to provide adequate ex-gratia relief of Rs. 10 lakhs in favour of the deceased SPO family members.
