Members raise issues of public importance during Zero Hour

SRINAGAR, JUNE 29: Various Members raised issues of public importance during Zero Hour in the Legislative Assembly today.

Ch Qamar Hussain demanded that new administrative units should be made functional in all respects for the convenience of people.

Mr Dina Nath Bhagat raised the issue of dilapidated condition of roads in his constituency. He urged the Government to release adequate funds for repair and macadamization of major and link roads in the area. He also pleaded for tapping the tourism potential of Chenani.

Mr M Y Tarigami demanded streamlining of academic arrangements of Lecturers in Degree Colleges. He said that the Government should come up with a foolproof policy for the benefit of students.

He also demanded release of wages to daily-wagers and casual laborers before Eid-ul-Fitr.

Mr Ali Mohammad Sagar raised the issue of deteriorated security situation in the state and urged  Government to come up with a detailed statement in this regard.

Mr Mohammed Ashraf Mir demanded for providing of BP vehicles to legislators due to security reasons.

 Mr. Sat Pal Sharma raised the issue of seven KAS and IAS officers who died while discharging their duties in last five years and demanded details of the benefits provided to the affected families.

Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar raised the issue of vacant post of Director at SKIMS and urged the Government to fill up the post as soon as possible.

Mr Gulzar Ahmad Wani demanded for development of park at Chattabal area for tourists.

Mr Bashir Ahmad Dar raised the issue of water scarcity in various areas of Kupwara and urged the Government for initiating urgent steps to ensure adequate drinking water facility in the area.

Engineer Abdul Rashid raised the issue of defunct lift services in health institutes and demanded for making these lifts functional soon.

Mr Aijaz Ahmad Mir demanded compensation to 84 flood-affected families of Shopian area.

Rajesh Gupta demanded implementation of recommendations of 7th pay commission for employees of the State.

Abdul Majid Larmi demanded regularization of daily-wagers and casual labourers, working in various Government departments.

Mr Vikar Rasool Wani demanded Government to take a call on the SSRB selected General Line Teachers and have not joined their duties and select candidate from the waiting list against these vacancies.

Abdul Rahim Rather demanded Government to upgrade the receiving stations in Kokernag and Hiller area.

Mr R S Pathania demanded strengthening of security in the State. He said that efforts should be taken to prevent any militant incidents in the state.

Mr Mubarak Gul raised the issue of increasing number of road accidents in the state and sought that Government should take serious and preventive actions with regard to this increasing number of accidents.

Mr Mumtaz Ahmad Khan demanded release of funds for early completion of under construction buildings in different sectors in his constituency.

Mr Pawan Kumar Gupta demanded that respective MLAs should be taken on board while initiating and executing developmental projects in their constituencies.

Mian Altaf demanded clearance of liabilities to contractors who have completed works in his constituency. He said that Government should release funds in this regard.

Mr Abdul Majid Paddar demanded expediting the construction work of receiving Station Nowgam. He also raised issue of defunct street lights in his constituency and demanded their restoration.

Mr Jewan Lal raised the issue of dilapidated condition of roads in his constituency. He urged the Government to release funds for the macadamisation of these roads.

Ch. Mohammad Akram raised the issue of damaged 123 KV transmission line in his constituency and urged the Government to  take steps for its complete restoration.

Mr. Mohammad Akbar Lone demanded release of funds for completion of various under-construction buildings in  various government departments.

Mr Khalid Bandh raised the issue of Gudura Bridge that was damaged in 2014 floods in his constituency. He demanded that construction of  bridge should be taken up for execution at the earliest.

Mr Ravinder Raina raised the issue of Dandani Bridge that was damaged during 2014 floods. He said that the bridge is vital for both civilian and defence purposes and Government should start its early construction. He also demanded construction of ByPass road in Nowsheri for decongestion of traffic.

Mr Devender Rana demanded clearance of pending salaries of  ReTs before the coming Eid.

Ms Anjum Fazili raised the issue of pendency of loan cases in Women’s Development Corporation. She urged the Government to clear all the cases.

Mr Kuldip Raj said that 35 power transformers have been damaged in his constituency. He demanded early repair of the transformers for restoration of Power Supply.

Mr G M Saroori demanded filling up of vacant posts sanctioned under administrative units in his constituency.

Mr Altaf Ahmad Wani raised the issue of death of two employees of PDD during their duty hours. He urged the Government to compensate and rehabilitate the families of deceased.

Mr Ajaz Ahmad Khan raised the issue of untrained teachers in educational institutes. He said that IGNOU should again start courses for teachers training.

Mr Shah Mohammad Tantray demanded early release of wages of all those employees in the state whose salaries are pending. He said that the wages should be released before Eid.

Mr Asgar Ali Karbalai demanded early filling up of 11 vacant posts in Kendriya Vidyalaya in Kargil.

Mr Kamal Verma demanded that MLAs should be taken in confidence while starting any developmental projects in their respective constituencies.

Mr Usman Abdul Majid demanded addressing the scarcity of drinking water in many areas of Bandipora especially its far flung and hilly areas.

Raja Manzoor Ahmad demanded recruitment of Class IV employees at block level in border areas of the State.

Haji Abdul Rashid demanded that defunct street lights in his constituency should be made functional.

Mr Shakti Raj Parihar and Mr Neelam Kumar Langeh demanded filling up of vacant posts of teachers and lecturers in educational institutes in their respective constituencies.

Mr Rajiv Sharma demanded re-survey of people for providing them financial assistance under marriage assistance scheme.

Javed Hassan Baig demanded early release of pending salaries of teachers in his constituency.

Mr Mushtaq Ahmad Shah demanded assessment of developmental needs in Tral and taking up of remedial measures in this regard.
