Jammu, March 20: Justice Sanjeev Kumar quashed the detention order issued by District Magistrate Jammu under PSA against one Bunny Gupta of RS Pura & has also criticised the District Magistrate, Jammu for passing the detention order in a callous manner.
The order said that, when ordinarily criminal law is sufficient to take care, resorts to preventive detention are to be avoided.
The court further added that the callousness with which liberty of a citizen has been curtailed coupled with manner in which the order of detention has been sought to be defended speaks volume about the manner in which the citizens of this country are dealt with by those who are enjoined to protect the life and liberty of the citizens of this country.
