Wine shop gets licence fraudulently, what actions on issuing authority, a question mark?

Jammu March 15: After taking over the charge as commissioner excise, J&K, Sh. Rajesh Shavan is making a major crackdown on malpractices for evading

taxes and in violations of Excise Act/ rules.

On the directions and direct supervision of Excise commissioner Sh. Rajesh Kumar Shavan, a team headed by ETO Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban range Sh. Naeem Mughal along with inspector Sh.Tauseef Kamal raided five liquor vends - M/S Shalimar Wine Shop Kishtwar, M/s Mehfil Bar & restaurant Kishtwar, Adil Karim w/s Thathri , M/s. Anil Manhas w/s prem Nagar.

Among these the Shalimar wine shop Kishtwar was booked and locked, pending enquiry into its conduct of obtaining the required permission for Liquor Licence fraudulently without seeking the prior NOCs from the competent authorities, thereby committing a serious nature of fraud and violation under Excise Act and Liquor Licence.

Shavan further said that the said process shall continue in near future to tight the nose of culprits, who are violating the Excise Laws to evade tax to give a loss to the Govt exchequer.

He furher directed his staff to act tough against such kind of violators & book them under relevant sections.
