JAMMU, Feb 13: The elections to approximately 13,000 vacant posts of Panchs and Sarpanchs in Jammu and Kashmir will be held from March 5, the Chief Election Officer J&K Shailendra Kumar announced on Thursday.
Shailendra Kumar during Press Conference said Elections to be held in eight phases from March 5 to 20.
Panchyats Elections will be the first in Jammu and Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370 and bifurcation of the state into union territories in August 2019.
Experts told Cross Town News that Model Code of Conduct (MCC) immediately comes in to effect from today.
