Govt to adopt comprehensive policy to improve condition of bus-stands across State: Dr Nirmal Singh


      SRINAGAR, June 10:  Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh today, intervening in the main question of Ali Muhammad Dar, informed that the Government will adopt a comprehensive policy and take appropriate measures to carry out repair works   for improving the  condition of bus-stands across the State.

          Referring to the development of bus stand at Chadoora in Budgam district to avoid frequent traffic jams there, the Deputy Chief Minister informed that the project needs Rs. 45 crore and the Government will project the demand to the Centre for its development. He said that bridge and approach road to the planned bus stand site was damaged in 2014-floods and have been repaired now.

          Earlier, replying to the main question, Minister of State for Housing & Urban Development, Ms. Asiea Naqash informed that 50 kanals of land has been identified for the development of Bus Adda by the Revenue authorities of District Budgam near Jam factory Charar-i-Shareef road, adding that the work would be started after the land acquisition process is completed.

          Saif-ud-Din Bhat and Javid Ahmad Mirchal raised supplementaries to the main question.
