JAMMU, June 07: Minister for Social Welfare, ARI & Trainings and Science & Technology, Sajad Lone today informed that presently there is no proposal for enhancement of monthly honorarium of Anganwadi Workers and Helpers under consideration of the Government.
The Minister was replying to a question of Sham Lal Bhagat.
The Minister informed that currently the focus of the Government is to ensure that children enrolled in Anganwadi centers are properly fed. He informed that Anganwadi workers are being considered for promotion as Supervisors in ICDS in terms of SRO-16 dated January 28, 2004. He said that 50% vacancies are being filled by direct recruitment and rest by adjustment as 25% having qualification as Graduate and 5 years of service as Anganwadi workers and another 25 % Anganwadi Workers possessing Matriculate qualification and having 10 years of service.
Dr. Shehnaz Ganai and Ramesh Arora raised supplementaries to the main question.
