RTO Kathua suspends 14 Driving  licenses and revokes 1


KATHUA, June 03: RTO Kathua, Amarjeet Singh while interacting with the young license seekers at trial ground Kathua informed them about various safety tips to be followed on road in view of the heavy loss of life on the roads. He informed that as per the latest figures 1.4 lakh people have lost their lives in the road accidents in India during the last year. Quoting the recent death of a lady who was hit by a rashly driven bike near Dreamland Park RTO advised the License seekers to have patience on the road as road is not a place to show aggression where even a small mistake can lead to irreparable loss for an entire family. He advised all to follow the traffic rules and share the road with other users for everyone’s safety and further said that the department has suspended fourteen driving licenses for a period of three months for indulging in various traffic violations.

 RTO told the license seekers that obtaining a license does not mean that it is irrevocable. He informed that all the agencies are taking strict view of traffic violations in view of the instructions issued by the committee constituted by the Hon`ble Supreme Court. He informed that the suspended licenses have been impounded by different enforcement agencies viz Traffic Police Jammu, Traffic Police North West Delhi, Traffic Police West Delhi, and Traffic Police Bangalore, Karnatka for violations like over speeding, red light jumping, dangerous driving and drunken driving and forwarded for appropriate action as per the Motor Vehicles Act 1988 and the directions issued by the Hon’ble Supreme Court Committee on road safety. Notices were issued to these violators for giving them an opportunity of being heard and action has been taken under section 19 of the Motor Vehicles Act 1988, read with rule 21 of the Central Motor Vehicles Rules 1989. One license has also been revoked as the same has been obtained by misrepresentation. Licensees whose Driving Licenses have been suspended are Lakhan Singh S/o Karan Singh, R/o Partap Nagar, Behind Police Qtr, W.No 17, Kathua, Jagdev  Singh, S/o Hari Ram, R/o Agli Dar, Billawar, Distt. Kathua, Vikas Zadoo, S/o Shiban Krishan, R/o Krishna Tent House, Divgangar, Jammu, Manjeet Singh, Bichittar Singh, R/o Billawar, Kathua, Rajinder Sharma S/o Dharub Dutt, R/o Para Patti, Basohli, Kathua, Chintan Kumar, S/o V.R. Gupta, R/o Hatli Morh, Kathua, Raiz Ahmed, S/o  Alaf Din, R/o Manoo, Gandoh, Doda,  Roov Mir, S/o  Nazir Ahmmed Mir, R/o Charul Banihal, Doda, Ramesh Singh S/o Thanu Ram, R/o Jankhar, Basohli, Kathua, Rohan Nagar, S/o Rajan Nagar, R/o W.No. 6, Kathua, Manjeet Lal S/o Manohar Lal, R/o Ghagwal, Hiranagar, Kathua, Sh.Rajinder Singh S/o Sh. Maan Singh, R/o, W.No 11, Kathua, Sh.Narotam Singh S/o Jagbir Singh, R/o Flote, Kathua, Ajay Kumar S/o Charan Dass, R/o Kadharnoo, Ramkote, Kathua. Besides notices for suspension of Route Permits have also been issued to the  vehicles indulging in overloading.

RTO advised the License seekers to deposit a self addressed envelope to avail the facility of home delivery of Driving Licenses. He informed that Two thousand Driving Licenses have been delivered by his office through speed post so far and all of them have been received.
