UDHAMPUR, Aug 22: One person was killed and 10 others were injured, 1 of them critically when an under construction house collapsed at village Chhappar in Latti tehsil of Udhampur.A team of doctors and ambulance was rushed by the district administration to provide immediate treatment to the victims. The deceased Vijay Kumar son of Ishwar Das succumbed to the injuries.
The incident took place in afternoon when some people were laying roof on the house which collapsed resulting into a death and injuries to others. Naib Tehsildar and SHO rushed to spot for rescue and relief. The injured were treated and shifted to hospital.
Deputy Commissioner Udhampur requisitioned helicopter for airlifting the three seriously injured. However due to bad weather the Helicopter could not land in Latti after which the injured persons were shifted to Chenani hospital . District administration provided relief out of Red Cross to NoK of dead and to injured.
The injured persons have been identified as Bittu Ram son of Kunj Raj, Sham Lal son of khem Raj, Charan Dass son of Permanand, Gaju Ram son of Chand , Hans Raj son of Mani Ram , Hans Raj son of Hari Saran, Girdhari lal son of Khem Raj , Kewal Kumar son of Sham Lal , Shadi Lal son of Ashok Kumar and Shanker Dass son of Premi all residents of Village Chappar in Lati tehsil.
