JAMMU, May 10: Ali Haider Gillani, son of former Pakistan Prime Minister, Yousaf Raza Gillani as per repotrts has been rescued from Afghanistan as a result of a joint operation carried out by US and Afghan forces in Ghazni.
Ali was held for three years by militants after abduction from a pre-election rally in Multan.
The news came to picture after the tweet of Pakistan Peoples’ Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, that former Prime Minister, Yousuf Raza Gillani received call from ambassador of Afghanistan that his son has been recovered in a successful operation in Afghanistan.
This news was confirmed in a statement issued by Afghan Foreign Office after a short while. Afghan Foreign Office said that Ali Haider would be transferred to Pakistan after the required medical check-up.
