SRINAGAR, APRIL 30: MLA, Anjum Fazili today distributed monthly food parcels among 400 widows at Community Hall, Chanapora, Srinagar.
Speaking on the occasion she said that the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti is well aware of problems confronting to women especially widows and is very serious for their welfare and upliftment.
Anjum Fazili further said that women have suffered a lot during last two decades in the state and government is committed to address their issues on priority besides uplift their socio-economic conditions by empowering them through various welfare schemes.
She said that government has launched various schemes including Ladli Beti, Asra, Marriage Assistance Scheme for the betterment of women and girls of the state.
Anjum Fazili also listened to their grievances and assured them of time bound redressal of their issues.
The event was organized by a Non-Governmental Organization ‘Orphans-in-Need’ in collaboration with Department of Social Welfare.
