SHOPAIN, APRIL 30: Member of Parliament Rajya Sabha, Nazir Ahmad Laway alongwith MLA Shopian Advocate Mohammad Yousuf Bhat and Deputy Commissioner Shopian G. M. Dar today visited the Government Girls Higher Secondary School Shopian (GHSSS) to inaugurate the Ambulance provided by the MP under MPLADS.
The MP also provided library books, computers to the school. On the occasion MLA Shopian sanctioned Rs 5 lakh under CDF for the school.
While speaking on the occasion, the MP stressed on the need to empower girl child and stated that upliftment of women folk is among priority of present dispensation led by Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti.
On the occasion he also announced Rs 10 lakhs for the only girls school in the district.
The Deputy Commissioner said that empowerment of girls by way of education is the need of hour and expressed gratitude to the MP and MLA Shopian for their interest in the welfare of Girl child with respect to better education.
