JAMMU, APRIL 24- A 10 days long programme on celebration of ‘Rashtriya Panchayati Raj Divas’ under the slogan of “Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday” organized by Block Development Officer, Satwari here today.
Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta attended the concluding function and highlighted the role of Panchayats in the development of rural areas. He stressed upon the Sarpanchs and Panch to play their pivotal role to aware the general masses in connection with benefits of panchayat related central and state sponsored schemes.
Speaker stressed upon the people to avail benefits from various development and welfare schemes launched by state and central government. He asked the people for proper cleanliness in and around their areas so that the mission of Modi Government to be fulfilled under ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’.
Speaker said that the government has take up all steps to provide all basic infrastructure in rural areas at par with the urban areas including roads, lanes and drains, electricity etc, so that the living standard of rural masses to be uplifted. He also stressed for involvinge more common people in the mission.
Block Development Officer, Satwari, Arun Khajuria elaborated the gathering about the function and activities of the various schemes of the department including PMAY (IAY), PMGSY, MGNREGA, Gram Sabha and other activities of the Department. He said that block level programmes were also held at grass root level and mass awareness also provided among the rural populace.
He said that the main objectives behind the organizing of this 10 day long national level programme is to spreading mass awareness among the people especially rural areas about the various developmental and awareness programmes carried out by state and central government.
Among others, senior officers of concerned department, Sarpanchs, Panchs, prominent citizens, besides a large number of local people were also present on the occasion.
