MLA Kathua  kick starts Rs. 1.65 cr dev projects

KATHUA, Apr 23:   Ensuring better facilities to the people in every nook and corner of the State is the fundamental agenda of the Government, said BJP MLA from Kathua constituency, Rajiv Jasrotia today kick started developmental works worth 1.65 Cr in his constituency which includes inaugurating black topping work worth 120 lacs at Nagri Palli in Kathua constituency, Rs 20 lacs macadamization work at Barwal and Rs 25 lacs worth works at Nagri including desilting work besides lanes and drains work.

Accompanied by PWD (R&B) officials, local residents and political activists of the area, Jasrotia started the works in the presence of a large number of people. He maintained that the works of roads which were left pending due to change in weather conditions have been started and it will be seen that these works are completed in a stipulated period time in order to provide best quality of roads to the public. MLA said that coalition government commitment to provide road connectivity to every nook and corner of the state besides providing basic amenities to the people of the State at their doorsteps has now become true with the sincere efforts of our Govt .

Speaking on the occasion, MLA said that an effective monitoring mechanism has been put in place to enforce accountability and transparency in the implementation of developmental schemes. He also underlined the need for public involvement in the developmental activities and said that without their cooperation the objective of the government of taking state’s development tempo to new highs cannot be achieved. He said that the Union government headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been providing liberal funding to the State for accelerating developmental and economic activities.

Addressing a public rally on the occasion, MLA called himself as a public servant whose doors are open round-the clock for the people. He said that if any person has any problem, he can approach him directly; adding that governance at the doorstep is the new mantra of running government in the State. MLA said that coalition government is committed to address the basic problems of people like drinking water, power, essential supplies, health, roads etc for which it has taken up some bold initiatives also. MLA said that equal growth of all the three regions of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh, particularly the rural and far-flung areas of the State is being given priority by the present coalition government.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA said that he will continue his endeavors to meet the aspirations of the people of the Kathua constituency despite all odd while hoping that the general masses will extend their sincere cooperation to put the constituency back on the track of development and progress. Reiterating his committed to provide better civic amenities to all, he said that massive development activities have been started across the constituency to provide ensure safe drinking water, better sewerage, lanes and drains and hygienic surroundings in every nook and corner of constituency. He said that the he was committed to maintain clean and healthy environment in urban parts of the constituency adding that a comprehensive plan has been prepared to develop parks on modern line in Kathua constituency.

Listing the developmental works completed in the constituency MLA said that the localities which lacked all the basic facilities could today boast of concrete roads, lanes and proper drainage, besides adequate supply of safe drinking water and power supply. Maintaining that emancipation of the suppressed sections is the prime objective of his government, he said, it is for the first time that the social welfare schemes, earlier found only on the files are now being implemented on the ground. He said thousands of BPL families and destitute are today getting subsidized and free ration.
