Addressing a day long convention of the PCC migrant cell at jagti near nagrota here today, Shri Mir Said the Kashmir and Kashmiriyat is incomplete without the return and rehabilitation of Kashmiri pandit as the age old secular credentials of Kashmir are under question without the return and rehabilitation to their native land, with dignity in an atmosphere, where they feel adequate sense of safety and security to their lives and property as well their religious rights. He said that the exodus of kashmiri pandits from the valley is a blot on the secular tradition and religious brotherhood, for which Kashmir and Kashmiriyat is known and their return is unfinished agenda and challenge to all political dispensations in the country and state, as well as those who believe in the secular values of the country.

Shri Mir said that the Congress party did its utmost to look after the interests of the kashmiri migrants and made efforts aimed their welfare, return and rehabilitation although nothing can compensate their agony, suffering and pain, of being away from their native places. He said although efforts were made from time to time by the  Govts. of the day for their welfare and return but creation of congenial atmosphere is not solely possible at the Govt. and  political level alone without active role of civil society by all and those who believes  that without their return and rehabilitation, the kashmiri culture and kashmiriyat is incomplete.

Mr Mir also appealed to the Kashmiri migrants to make efforts to rebuild their social and cultural relations in Kashmir, in order to help create an atmosphere of harmony and brotherhood to help and facilitate efforts for creating a desired atmosphere in this regard.

Extending full support to the genuine issue of the displaced kashmiri migrants Mr. Mir asked the migrant cell of the party to redouble their efforts to strengthen the bonds at the grass root level to help resolve their problems and win back their confidence in the policies and programmes of the Congress party.
