JAMMU, MARCH 22- The meeting of the High Level Committee constituted by the State Administrative Council (SAC) to consider and suggest various options to address the issues pertaining to the estimated 61000 casual labourers, NYCs, seasonal labourers and part-time workers was held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary, Mr. B. R. Sharma.
The meeting was attended by Financial Commissioner, Planning and Development Department, Mr. B. B. Vyas, Commissioner Secretary, Finance, Mr. Navin K. Choudhary, Law Secretary, Mr. Mohammad Ashraf Mir, and Director General Budget, Dr. Mohammad Ishaq Wani.
The Committee desired to have a firm figure of various categories of workers across the departments which would be obtained by the Codes Section of the Finance Department on urgent basis, Finance Department will circulate a proforma specifying required information from all departments which shall be obtained within a week’s time.
The Committee also felt that based on necessary data the specific recommendation for specific categories of these persons can be considered by the Committee.
The Committee also desired the Finance Department to workout financial implications once various options are worked out by the Committee in its next meetings.
