Speaker kick starts blacktopping work at village Dadhap Inaugurates farmers awareness camp at Chatha

JAMMU, MARCH 21: Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Mr. Kavinder Gupta today kick started blacktopping work of a road at village Dadhap. The 300m  road work is estimated to be completed at a cost of Rs 3.13 lakh. 

Mr Gupta on the occasion stressed on the concerned officers to complete the work at the earliest so that long pending demand of the locals is fulfilled. 

The Speaker also visited Khawas Khan village and inspected several ongoing works including construction of link road from village to the Shamshan Ghat.

Mr Gupta also addressed series of public meetings in which locals apprised him about various demands including improving link roads of the villages, repair of lanes, drains and culverts, upgradation of transformers, installation of new poles and wires and other related issues of the villages.

Speaker gave patient hearing to the locals and said that all genuine demands would be looked into on priority and in this regards gave necessary directions to the concerned officers on the spot. He also sought cooperation of the locals for timely completion of the developmental works being executed by different agencies of the Government.

Earlier, the Speaker also visited small plot, Gandhi Nagar and interacted with the locals and listened to their demands including construction of Mali Hut at Local Park, proper maintaining and beautification of the park, settlement of old age pension cases etc. He also inspected the upgradation works being carried on lanes and drains by PHE department. 

Later, the Speaker also inaugurated an awareness Camp organised by the Horticulture Department at Chatha. The camp aimed at spreading awareness among the farmers and providing tools to the farmers.  

Various farming tools were available on sale on subsidized rates in the Camp including Pump Set, Chain Set, Brush Cutter and other items.

Mr Gupta on the occasion stressed on extending all the benefits of various schemes meant for the farming community including their women folk. He also distributed Leechi plant among the farmers who participated in the function to promote the horticulture produce.  

Among others, senior officers of concerned department, a large number people, Sarpanches, Panches, prominent citizens were also present in the camp.
