JAMMU, MARCH 12: To take stock of the people’s problems, in Gandhi Nagar constituency, the Speaker Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Mr Kavinder Gupta today conducted extensive tour of Model Town and Preet Nagar areas.
The Speaker inspected the overhead water tank in the area which has recently suffered some damages and took stock of the problems being faced by the locals in this regard. He gave on the spot directions to the concerned officers asking them that repair work of the tank should be started soon as the requisite funds for the purpose have already been sanctioned.
The locals informed the Speaker about the problems of the area including drinking water, upgradation and macadamization of inner roads, reopening of Government Middle School, Marakadi which was closed under rationalization scheme.
The Speaker also held a meeting with the residents of Preet Nagar and listened to individual and collective problems regarding repairs and upgradation of lanes and drains, installation of new electric poles and wires, ration related issues, settlement of widow and family pension cases.
Mr. Gupta assured the locals that their genuine demands will be taken up for redressal on priority.
Among others, Baldev Singh Blowria, Harbans Choudhary, Varinderjeet Singh, Kulwant Singh Bhatti, Paramjit Singh and a large number prominent citizens hailing from the areas also accompanied the Speaker.
