JAMMU, March 07: BJP State President & MLA Sat Sharma CA and Former Deputy Chief Minister & Leader of BJP Legislative Party Dr. Nirmal Singh, visited the famous Lord Shiva’s Aap Shambhu Mandir situated in Roop Nagar area of Jammu Citry on the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivratri to pay their obeisances and seek blessings for peace and prosperity in the state.
BJP State Vice President Smt. Mamta Singh also accompanied them.
Both, Sat Sharma and Dr. Nirmal Singh performed the Pooja amid chanting of religious verses alongwith a large number of devotees drawn from Jammu and adjoining areas, with majority of them from Kashmiri Hindu community. The entire premises of this temple were flocked by devotees, including young and old, who had come to perform the traditional Shivlinga worship.
In their prayers, they sought blessings of Lord Shiva for peace and prosperity in the lives of the people of Jammu And Kashmir State and shower happiness, strengthen the social fabric and promote brotherhood.
Sat Sharma, while interacting with the devotees, said that the gatherings at such religious festivals display the bonds of oneness and the desire of the people to come forward and pray massively for the well being of the human beings and maintaining the communal harmony. He expressed hope that people will get strength and encouragement from Lord Shiva to defeat the forces which are working to weaken the nation and create hatred among the communities.
Dr. Nirmal Singh said that although the government has sounded high alert but there is no need to panic as it is a warning for our own security and to be vigilant about the suspicious movement in our surroundings. Our brave soldiers are keeping vigil so that the people celebrate their religious functions in cordial and incident free atmosphere. He said that the people should also seek blessings of Lord Shiva for the welfare and security of the men in uniform who are defending the nation against such forces who want to create destruction and instability. He expressed hope that the good sense prevails on Pakistan, it gets change in its mindset and comes forward to be a peace loving neighbour.
