KATHUA, Feb 23: Senior BJP leader and MLA Kathua, Rajiv Jasrotia Tuesday inaugurated four tubewells at Uttri,Sahar, Kadyar Kumala and Jagatpur respectively at the cost of 4 . 26 crore by Public Health Engineering Department under NRDWP in Kathua constituency that had become nonfunctional due to lack of funds. It deserves mentioning here that with the sincere and committed efforts of concerned MLA funds were managed by him from central Govt to make them functional again. Chief Engineer PHE, other concerned engineers besides Sarpanchs, Panchs and a large number of people were also present on the inaugural function. The tubewells equipped with all high-tech and automatic equipments has capacity of 5000 GLNS per hours per Tubewell.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA said that he is highly concerned about the scarcity of water in kandi areas of his constituency and for the purpose large number of schemes has been taken up to provide and augment potable water facilities in water stressed areas. He said that with the inauguration of these tubewells, the long pending demand of the people of the area has been fulfilled, adding that thousands of souls of Uttri, Sahar, Kadyar Kumala and Jagatpur and adjoining villages will be benefitted with adequate drinking water facilities.
We have initiated various development projects including construction of roads and bridges, educational and health institutions, electricity and safe drinking water supply projects to provide all basic facilities to the people at their doorsteps, he added. He called upon the people to cooperate with executing agencies for implementation of Government development schemes for their own betterment besides keeping a close monitoring of the development projects being executed in their respective area.
MLA said that he was making concerted efforts to develop sustainable basic infrastructure in the rural areas at par with the urban areas under a well-knit programme besides he has prepared a comprehensive plan to meet the requirement of drinking water in water deficit areas of the constituency, adding that for this purpose liberal funding has been earmarked under PHE for digging of deep drill tubewells and hand pumps. He said he has issued directions to PHE to put their sincere efforts in providing adequate drinking water facilities to every house so that the people do not feel any inconvenience due to shortage of this vital requirement.
MLA said that he is committed to ensure better basic facilities to the people, especially in periphery localities of urban pockets. He said drinking water, road connectivity, education, electricity are the key agenda, adding that for this purpose he has given focused attention during his tenure as MLA so far. He said the infrastructure in these sectors has been upgraded to overcome the difficulties of the people. He said that for creating durable assets in every corner of the State, Central Government has provided liberal funding under development sectors to meet the development related issues of the people besides launching several people friendly schemes which will benefit the people in the long run. He asked the people to come forward and avail the benefits of such schemes.
