Lal Singh pays surprise visit to Accidental Hospital at Ghagwal

JAMMU, Jan 05:Minister for Health and Medical Education, ARI and Trainings, Choudhary Lal Singh, today conducted surprise inspection of Accidental Hospital, Ghagwal in Samba district, here midnight yesterday and took stock of the functioning there.

The Minister went round different sections of the hospital and enquired about the status of medicare being extended to patient. He interacted with the patients and asked them about the availability of drugs and other medical facilities being provided to them in the hospital.

Director General Indian System of Medicines Dr. Abdul Kabir Dar, Director family welfare Dr. Baldev Raj Sharma, Mission Director National Health Mission Dr. Mohan Singh, Deputy Director Health Services Dr. Ajay Gupta besides Chief Medical Officer and Block Medical Officer of Samba district accompanied the Minister.

Choudhary Lal Singh instructed the Chief Medical Officer and Block Medical Officer for ensuring all possible healthcare facilities to the patients with special focus on maintaining hygiene in and around the hospital.

The Minister also inspected the drug store, wards and Operation Theatre and asked to increase OPD to meet the requirements of patients. He also impressed upon the officers to avoid referring cases to Jammu and Samba districts hospitals as all the rural and far-off areas hospitals have been upgraded with all facilities at par with district hospitals.

The Minister said that taking proper care of patient’s health is priority of the government and any negligence in this regard would be viewed seriously for stern action. He called upon the medicos and para-medicos to remain punctual to their duties for convenience of the patients.

The Minister also emphasized the medicos and para-medicos to maintain dress code and cleanliness in the hospital. He said that patient care should be their prime concern as they are being considered as next to God and their devotion and hard work can save innumerable precious lives.

Choudhary Lal Singh said that the Government is working under a comprehensive plan to equip health institutions in all the rural as well as far-off areas with advanced diagnostic and treatment facilities for which otherwise the people have to wander from pillar to post to get the same.

Later, the Minister received the appraisal about the several programmes and policies initiated for upgradation of healthcare facilities in the hospital.
