Governor reviews performance under “UDAAN” and outcome of on-campus recruitments in the State universities

JAMMU, Dec 30: Governor N.N. Vohra, Chancellor of the State Universities and Chancellor of the Central University of Jammu and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University Katra, reviewed the outcome of the on-Campus recruitment drives conducted in all the universities of J&K during 2013-14-15.  

       

Jammu University: in 2013, 2014 & 2015 (upto 31st August 2015) 34 Campus recruitment drives were conducted in which, excluding the 45 students who were shortlisted by the Azim Premji Foundation, 95 MBA, MCA, MSc, MA and Engineering Diploma holders  were hired by HDFC, YES  Bank, Axis Bank KIES, HPL, Airtel, Vodafone,  Reliance Communications, GIPL etc.

       

Kashmir University: in  2013, 2014 and 2015 (upto 30th October 2015) 58 recruitment drives were carried out in which 1078 candidates from the disciplines of  Economics, Mathematics, Pharmacology, BE, B.Tech, IT were selected by ONGC, NTPC, TCS, Bajaj, RBI Bank Ltd., Tata Motors, Accenture etc.SKUAST-J: in the only recruitment drive conducted in 2015, 04 students of PG-PBG, Pathology and Agriculture were selected by IFFCO.

         

SKUAST-K: in one recruitment drive each conducted in 2013 and 2014, 08 students were selected by Nature’s Bio Food Ltd. and Savannah Seeds Pvt. Ltd.Islamic University of Science and Technology, Awantipora: in the only recruitment drive carried out in 2014, 13 candidates were selected by Roman Technologies from the B.Tech., CSE/ECE, MCA streams.

       

Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSB), Rajouri: in 15 on- Campus drives conducted during 2014 and 2015, 56 candidates from the B.Tech, CSE/ECE, MCA, MBA, BBA streams were selected by L&T, TATA Group, TCS, Jabang.Com etc.

         

“UDAAN”,the Special Industry Initiative (SII) for J&K: till date 19,774 selections have been made by various private sector companies against which 15,086 candidates joined; 8,620 completed their training of whom 6825 received placement orders and 5551 have since joined work (till 24th December, 2015).
