DC Kathua reviews progress under NFSA

KATHUA, Dec 26: Deputy Commissioner, Kathua Ramesh Kumar today held a detail review of the progress made under the implementation of National Food Security Act (NFSA) in the district.While chairing the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner was apprised that 47.1 percent of the urban population whereas 63.55 percent of the rural population will be covered under NFSA. It was informed that as per 2011 census a total of 6,15,711 souls were registered in the district out of which 357884 shall be covered under priority and 222703 under non-priority households.

 

     DC stressed for adhering to the laid down procedure to ensure that forms be checked properly through Village Level Committees (VLC) and Tehsil Level Committees (TLC) before final scrutiny by District Level Committees. He also passed directions to the committees to ensure display of AAY/BPL/Priority/Non-Priority/Exclusion lists at respective depots/fair price shops for seeking objections. DC called for submitting the digitalized forms complete in all respects before 29th December to timely digitization of the information.  

    

Among others, the meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Kathua, Manmohan Singh, ACD Kathua, Assistant Director CAPD, TSOs, Tehsildars, BDOs and DIO NIC.
