Kohli Conduct surprise check of J&KSRTC bus in Jammu

JAMMU Dec 25:In order to have a first - hand appraisal of the problems being faced by the people of rural areas, Minister  for Transport,   Abdul Ghani Kohli today convened a public meeting at  Kanyala village of Jindrah area.

 Addressing   a large gathering, the Minister said Government is determined to ensure an effective mechanism to make the system more accountable and answerable to the people and all possible efforts will be made for overall development of every nook and corner of the state.

During the meeting, people projected various demands pertaining   to renovation and upgradation of existing roads, improvement in the drinking water supply facility, construction of new bridges and other basic problems of their respective areas.

Responding to their demands regarding starting of bus service from Jammu to Manwal via Kanyala  , the Minister said that possibilities would be explored in this regard at the earliest.

The Minister assured to them that their genuine demands would be sort out within a shortest possible time. He directed the concerned officers to look into the issues raised by the people of the area and initiate necessary steps for an early redressal of the same .

Several   Sarpanchs, Panchs spoke on the occasion and highlights developmental needs  of their concerned areas.

MD, SRTC, Senior Leaders, Nand Kishore Sharma, Chander Mohan Gupta, and other sectoral officers accompanied the Minister.

On the way, Kohli suddenly inspected a 25 seater SRTC passenger bus near Ban Plaza which was on way from Katra to Jammu.

While checking the bus, the Minister found that the bus bearing No, JK01Y-0447 had left from Katra to Jammu with only  5 passenger  on board.

The Minister directed the MD, JKSRTC to   look into the matter and take immediate initiative in this regard.
