KALAKOTE, Dec 22: JKPCC Chief Mr. Ghulam Ahmed Mir said that politics of Vendetta is a biggest clot on the flourish traditions of our country which is the largest democracy in the World. Congress would fight against such tactics of BJP to malign and deter the opposition from playing its role against the wrong policies of government.
Addressing a largely attended workers convention at Kalakote today, Mr. Mir said that our democracy has its glorious past traditions and India is known for a vibrant democracy in the World but regretted that the nineteen (19) month of ‘Modi’ regime has persued politics of Vendetta against the Congress and other opposition parties to deter them from playing role of an effective opposition against the wrong policies of this government. He said that these tactics of maligning the democracy and weakening the democratic values of our country, while asserting that Congress and its leadership would not be deterred to play its role of a vibrant opposition to expose the falsehood of the ‘Modi’ regime.
The convention was organized by a Senior Congress leader & former MLA Shri Ashok Sharma and was attended by Senior leaders of the party which includes Shri Jugal Kishore Sharma-Group leader of the Congress Legislatures in Upper House; Ex-MLC Ravinder Sharma-Chief Spokesperson PCC; former Minister Shabir Ahmed Khan General Secretary PCC; Ch. Shah Nawaz-General Secretary PCC; Smt. Indu Pawar-President Mahila Congress; Pranav Shagotra-President PYC; President BCC Kalakote M. Y. Mughal; Som Raj Khajuria; Sushil Sharma, Subash Sharma and other prominent leaders of Kalakote constituency.
PCC President said that communal and divisive politics is biggest threat to the secular fabric, unity and integrity of the state and the nation and said that Congress is the only option which represent the multi regions and multi cultural character of our country. He said that the kind of religious ‘intolerance’ is a result of politics of opportunism for vested political interests and asked people to raise above religion and castes consideration to strengthen the secular and progressive politics for a better future.
Mr. Mir said that the PDP and BJP have been proved to be most opportunistic and power hungry parties who surrendered their ideologies and forgot their promises with only agenda to resume power. He said that people of Delhi, Bihar as well as in Gujarat in the Panchayat and Local Bodies elections have rejected the politics of falsehood, hatred and shown a way forward to countrymen and urged the people to reject the politics of betrayal of PDP-BJP in the upcoming Urban Local Bodies (ULB) & Panchayat elections.
PCC Chief said that the nine (9) month government of PDP-BJP has proved to be utter failure in meeting the basic needs of people regarding ration, power, health and rebuilding damaged infrastructure, ration and rehabilitation of flood affected people besides only harassment to the unemployed youth, daily wagers, need base workers, SPOs, ReT teachers, farmers and other different categories of people. While extending full support of the party to the issues of different categories raised in the convention lauded the efforts of Ashok Sharma to highlight the most genuine demands of common people and fight for the cause of poor and downtrodden.
Mr. Ashok Sharma in his address spoke on various resolutions adopted in the convention regarding the deplorable condition of Siot-Kalakote road which is in dilapidated condition and demanded its widening, enhancement of wages of Lamberdars & Chowkidars, regularization of SPOs, daily wagers, need base workers in various departments, issues of farmers, flood and rain affected people and various other local issues of Kalakote constituency. He lashed out on the politics of vendetta and favoritism being adopted by the leaders of the ruling party in the constituency in the matter of basic amenities to the people. He also put forth the grievances of Congress workers, while appreciating the PCC leadership to galvanise and strengthen party in every nook and corner of the state under the leadership of Shri Ghulam Ahmed Mir.
Mr. Jugal Kishore Sharma in his address said that BJP hoodwinked and befooled the people of Jammu region for the past six (6) decades on the issues of abrogation of Article 370 and various other emotional issues but surrendered for the sake of power. He said that people are totally fed up with present dispensation and asked the party workers to expose the double standard of these parties in the coming elections to the Local Bodies and Panchayats.
Earlier, Mr. Ghulam Ahmed Mir accompanied by Shabir Ahmed Khan and other senior leaders of the party addressed Congress rally at Thanamandi, which was organized by Shakeel Mir.
