Revised Select List for the posts of Lecturer 10+2 (Biotechnology)

Srinagar, October 16: PSC had issued Revised Select List for the posts of Lecturer 10+2 (Biotechnology) in School Education Department, copy of which is with Cross Town News, reads as:-
 Whereas, the School Education Department referred 10 posts (OM:07, RBA:02 & ST:01) of Lecturer in the discipline of Biotechnology to the Public Service Commission for being filled up from amongst the suitable candidates; and 
whereas, the Commission notified these posts vide Notification No. 09-PSC (DR-P) of 2016 dated 19.03.2016; and 
whereas, in response to the above notification, 1094 applications were received; and 
whereas, the written test of the candidates for selection was conducted on 26.06.2016 in which 927 candidates appeared. The result of the written test was declared vide Notification No. PSC/Exam/2017/51 dated: 27.09.2017 in pursuance of Rule 32(a) of the J&K Public Service Commission (Conduct of Examinations) Rules, 2005 and Rule 40 of the J&K Public Service Commission (Business & Procedure) Rules, 1980 as amended from time to time and 47 candidates were declared to have qualified the written test and called for interview; and 
whereas, the interview of the shortlisted candidates was conducted w.e.f. 10.10.2017 to 11.10.2017 with the assistance of experts from outside the State. 
Whereas, the select list for the post of lecturer (10+2) Biotechnology was made public vide Notification No.47-PSC of (DR-S) of 2017 dated 13.10.2017; 
Whereas, the error has been pointed out by the Commission on 16.10.2017 and it was found that candidate falling at S.No.1 namely Mr. Irshad Ahmad Rather under RBA category has secured 61.00 marks and he should have figured at S.No.4 after Page 2 of 3  
Mr. Mudasir Ahmad Beig and before Ms. Amrina Shafi under Open Merit. Mr. Nishant Gupta will find his position in waiting list in place of Mr. Mudasir Ahmad Mir. The next candidate in order of merit under RBA category is Basharat Bashir Teli who has secured 44.50 marks. Thus he does not fall within the bench mark criteria of 45 marks; and 
 Whereas, the merit of the candidates who had appeared in the interview has been revised as per the criteria mentioned above. 
 Now, therefore, on the basis of the performance in the interview coupled with the weight-age accorded to the marks secured in written test in pursuance of Rule 51 of the J&K Public Service Commission (Business & Procedure) Rules, 1980 as amended from time to time and other related parameters and consequent upon revision in the merit of the candidates, the revised select list is enclosed as 
Annexure-“A” to this Notification.
